Karin Lapping

Karin is a public health nutritionist who has spent the past 17 years working in international health, with a professional and academic focus on the prevention of chronic malnutrition in developing countries across Asia and Africa. Karin is currently working at Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation as Associate Director of Gates Ventures, which is the Executive Office of Bill Gates. Previously, she was Project Director of Alive & Thrive, which scales up nutrition to save lives, prevent illness, and ensure healthy growth and development through improved maternal, infant and young child nutrition. Karin has also served as Senior Director of Nutrition at Save the Children for 4 years where she directed the global nutrition portfolio.

Karin holds a B.A. in Religious Studies from Colby College, a Masters in Public Health from Emory University in Infectious Disease and a PhD from Tufts University in Food Policy and Applied Nutrition.
