Innovative nutrition foundation makes three high profile appointments

The Power of Nutrition, an innovative foundation created to generate new funding for nutrition and invest in high impact programmes to address undernutrition and stunting in Africa and Asia, is thrilled to announce three high profile appointments. These three senior individuals from the worlds of politics, international diplomacy and business will add significantly to our ability to drive our work forward.

The appointments – Lord Browne of Madingley as President, Mike Rann AC, CNZM as Board Chairman and Ertharin Cousin as Board Director – will help The Power of Nutrition to make continued progress as we accelerate our fundraising and investment programme.

These appointments come at an exciting time for The Power of Nutrition, with new funders making generous donations and new investments being developed and rolled out. After just over two years of operations, The Power of Nutrition has a portfolio of programme investments worth almost $100 million and a further $300 million of investments under design.

“I am delighted to be joining the Board of The Power of Nutrition as its Chairman,” said Mike Rann. “Changing the way we fund nutrition is vital to the development of young children and economies in some of the poorest countries in the world. We intend to step up our fundraising efforts and the scope of our programmes.”

“Nutrition is the foundation for individual and economic development,” said Ertharin Cousin. “I have made it my personal mission to help end hunger around the world. Joining the Board of The Power of Nutrition is a perfect next step.”
